The Emory University School of Medicine has more than 1,300 residents and fellows in more than 100 residency and fellowship training programs. These programs fulfill the requirements of the respective specialty certification boards.

Cancer-Related Residencies and Fellowships

Hematology and Medical Oncology

The Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship Program offered by Emory University School of Medicine and Winship Cancer Institute is a three-year fellowship which leads to board eligibility in hematology and medical oncology.

Radiation Oncology

The Department of Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine offers two residency programs, a physician program with a one-year internship in internal medicine followed by a four-year residency, and a physicist program consisting of a two-year clinical training program.

Surgical Oncology

The Department of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine provides general surgery rotations for those interested in surgical oncology service and offers the Emory Breast Oncology and the Complex Surgical Oncology fellowship programs.

Urology

Residency training in the Department of Urology at Emory University School of Medicine is a five-year academic program that includes training for one year in general surgery followed by four years in urologic surgery.

Radiology

The Department of Radiology at Emory University School of Medicine offers a number of fellowship programs that include breast imaging, cardiothoracic imaging, nuclear radiology and others, as well as residency programs in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology and nuclear medicine.

Pathology

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine offers a wide range of ACGME-accredited subspecialty fellowships in various areas including cytopathology, gynecologic pathology, surgical pathology, hematopathology and more.

MD/PhD Program

The Emory MD/PhD Program, an interdisciplinary physician-scientist training program, provides the training necessary for students to work at the forefront of a scientific field while concurrently developing outstanding clinical skills.
