Dan Zhu, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at Emory University School of Medicine.
Dr. Zhu is a member of theCell and Molecular Biology Research Programat Winship Cancer Institute.
Education
Dr. Zhu earned his PhD from Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University in China. He completed his postdoctoral training in Neurobiology at University of Alabama at Birmingham and Medical College of Georgia followed by postdoctoral training in Neuro-oncology at Emory University School of Medicine.

Research
Dr. Zhu's research focus is to define molecular mechanisms involved in brain tumorigenesis towards the development of novel better therapeutics. He aims to:
explore targeting epigenetic factors and integrin pathway in medulloblastomas;
determine the role of 5-hydroxytryptamine signaling in medulloblastoma formation and therapy development;
explore the innate immunity in glioblastoma therapeutics.
