She is the Georgia State Representative for the Association of Women Surgeons, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of numerous medical societies including the Society of Surgical Oncology, American Society of Breast Surgeons and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Since joining Emory, Dr. Styblo has been active both locally and nationally in clinical and translational research. Of particular note are her research collaborations with the late Dr. John Bostwick in skin-sparing mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction, with Emory radiologist Dr. Naomi Alazraki in clinical trials to establish sentinel lymph node biopsy as a standard of care for axillary staging, and with Emory plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Albert Losken in the use of oncoplastic reduction to improve the outcome of patients having breast conserving therapy.
In 2014, Dr. Styblo was appointed chair of the Emory Integrated Cancer Network of Winship Cancer Institute, which linked cancer treatment providers and staff at Emory University Hospital, Emory University Hospital Midtown, Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital, and Emory Johns Creek Hospital. During the next year, she concentrated on achieving the required qualifications to be recognized by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACS CoC) as an official integrated network cancer program, and in 2016, the ACS CoC granted the network full accreditation. She serves as a Network Physician Surveyor for the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.

Cannot say enough good things about the care I received from every single person who I saw that day. Georgia, Rhonda, Dr. Stylbo, Dr. Ho and his staff. I had been to another hospital group before (for same condition) and the care provided is like night and day. I left the "other" hospital crying and devastated. I left my appointment at Emory hopeful and confident that this staff will do everything possible to ensure the best treatment available. Thank you. |

|
08/07/2022 |
Dr Styblo was extremely rude, condescending, and arrogant. She was very combative when we asked questions that differed from her suggestion. She kept quoting "we go by guidelines". We didn't go to medical school, we don't know the guidelines. We're simply asking questions to fully understand all of the options and why her treatment plan was the best way forward. We asked about how to prepare for surgery, and her response was, "well doesn't seem like you can walk". That was extremely inappropriate. You should ask, you don't seem to be walking well, is something wrong with your leg. She made comments about how I was even able to do my job. Very inappropriate, condescending, and just plain rude. I was just diagnosed with cancer, I don't need the person I'm supposed to trust in surgery to essentially be making fun of me. |
|
