Charles E. Moore, MD, is a professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at Emory University School of Medicine. A board-certified otolaryngologist, Dr. Moore specializes in the surgical treatment of cancers of the head and neck with a focus craniomaxillofacial and anterior skull base surgery. He treats patients with head and neck cancer at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Moore is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
Education
Dr. Moore earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He then completed residencies in general surgery and otolaryngology at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Dr. Moore completed two fellowships, one for facial plastics and reconstructive surgery, at the University of Michigan and another for research at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

Dr. Moore serves as president of the American Association for Cancer Education. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Georgia Society of Otolaryngology, National Medical Association, North American Skull Base Society and Society of Robotic Surgery, among other professional organizations.
Research
Dr. Moore's primary research interest is in the investigation of factors related to disparities in healthcare with a particular focus on head and neck cancer incidence in medically underserved communities. He has a special interest in cancer prevention, health equality and health equity. Additional research is in the areas of craniomaxillofacial trauma and anterior cranial base tumor pathology.

Dr. Moore is the recipient of numerous awards including the Woodruff Fund Clinical Teaching Support Award in Otolaryngology, Teacher of the Year for Excellence in Resident Teaching from the Department of Otolaryngology of Emory University School of Medicine, the Herbert Nickens Award, the International Cancer Education Conference Award and Travel Grant, and the National Medical Fellowship Excellence In Medical Education Award.
Dr. Moore has been listed in AcademicKeys Who's Who in Medical Sciences Education, Who's Who for Executives and Professionals, Castle Connolly's Top Doctors, and America's Top Physicians, and he has received a Triological Society Poster Award for the study, "Adolescent Awareness of Risk Factors Associated with Head and Neck Cancer Versus Lung Cancer." In 2017, he received the Georgia Hospital Association's Distinguished Service Award.
